Dear Winter Film Festival Attendees,
The New York City Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) is honored to welcome you to the 14th annual Winter Film Festival.
MOME’s mission is to support and strengthen New York City’s creative economy, including its world-renowned independent filmmaking community, and make it accessible to all. This office shares the goal of the Winter Film Festival, to ensure diverse voices are given a platform to advance their stories.
This year’s festival features 103 official selections of animated films, documentaries, dramas, comedies, horror films, music videos and web series of all lengths, including 20 student films and 34 first-time filmmakers. Filmmakers come from 27 countries; half of the films were created by women, half created by people of color. With 25% of the films created by New Yorkers, this festival helps shine a light on the creative talent pool and production capabilities of NYC to a global audience. When people around the world see our streets and iconic backdrops on their screens, it makes them want to visit, work and live here.
To the international filmmakers, we hope you will consider NYC as your next filming location and take advantage of the state’s film tax credit, our ever expanding studio infrastructure and our growing local “Made in NY” workforce.

Congratulations to Chairman and Founder George Isaacs, and the entire team, on this year’s festival.
Enjoy the show!
