THE HOWL OF THE SHE WOLF is a cry for women’s freedom. It aims to assert that no human being is born sexist and that the solution to this social issue lies in educating boys and girls, especially in rural areas where this horror is even more prevalent. The protagonist realizes the reality of her childhood when it is her turn to raise her three children. That sense of protection forces her to break away from the love, refuge, and false sense of security she shared with her little ones in the home where they grew up. The film argues that all women who are victims of gender-based violence are imprisoned within four invisible walls.

About the Director

Andrea Ganfornina spent years hearing in her training sessions that avoiding children on a film set was the wisest choice. However, in her first professional opportunity, she wanted to break all the rules she had written in her notes. It was impossible to voice her claim without involving, not one, but three young kids for whom she wrote and directed with the utmost respect. Now they call her ‘Andrea of Emotions’ because they remember the exercises they did during rehearsals; filming was like a game. For them and herself.
